This policy explains what cookies and similar browser storage Autoplug uses on its website, why, and how you can control them.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to keep. They let the site remember things between pages and visits — for example, that you are signed in or which country you chose. We also use your browser's local and session storage for a few similar purposes; this policy covers those too.
All the cookies listed below are set by Autoplug itself (first-party). We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell information collected through cookies.
Strictly necessary
These make the site work. They are set whatever you choose in the cookie banner, and blocking them will stop sign-in and booking from working.
- autoplug_token — keeps you signed in after you log in. Expires after 30 days or when you sign out.
- autoplug_country — remembers which country's Autoplug you are using, so you see the right vehicles, prices and currency. Kept for up to 1 year.
- autoplug_cookie_consent — remembers the choice you made in the cookie banner, so we don't ask on every page. Kept for up to 1 year.
Preferences
These remember choices you made, so you don't have to make them again.
- autoplug_locale — the language you chose for the site.
- nuxt-color-mode (local storage) — whether you prefer the light or dark theme.
- Vehicle listing draft (local storage) — if you are listing a vehicle, the form is saved in your browser so an interrupted listing isn't lost. It is cleared when you finish.
Referrals
If you arrive through a friend's invite link, we remember it so the invite still counts if you sign up later.
- autoplug_referral — the invite code you arrived with. Kept for up to 60 days; whether it still counts is always decided by our servers.
- autoplug_vid — a random identifier with no personal information in it, used only to tell one visitor opening an invite link twice apart from two different people. Kept for up to 1 year.
Analytics
Autoplug does not currently run any analytics or tracking scripts on the website. If we add analytics in future, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent through the cookie banner before any analytics cookie is set — choosing "Essential only" will keep it off.
Third-party services
Some pages show maps provided by Google Maps (for example when searching for or listing a vehicle). When a map loads, Google may set or read its own cookies under Google's privacy policy. We do not control those cookies.
Managing and withdrawing consent
- You can accept all cookies or keep to essential ones only from the banner shown on your first visit.
- To change your mind, delete the autoplug_cookie_consent cookie (or all cookies for this site) in your browser settings; the banner will appear again on your next visit.
- Every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies and site storage. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will sign you out and prevent bookings.
